Finally , Juvenile Justice Amendment Act passed Juveniles aged 16 years and above will now be tried under laws for adults for heinous crimes as Parliament today passed a much-expected bill in this regard against the backof a juvenile convict being released in the gangrape-cum-murder case of December 2012. The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill, which provides for lowering the age for trial from 18 years, was passed by Rajya Sabha with a voice vote after a walkout by Left parties which wanted it to be sent to a Select Committee. The bill was passed by Lok Sabha earlier . Aftab Bahadur was sentenced to death for killing three people in 1992 and human rights group Reprieve said two witnesses who implicated Bahadur had since recanted, saying they were tortured. Political game plan to divert attention from their failure to fulfil poll promises in Delhi. New Delhi:  National President of All India Council pof Human Rights, Liberties and Social Justice Dr. Anthony Raju , Advocate ,  urged the warring sides in the ongoing political crisis in Delhi to “sit together and find a solution” after lieutenant governor (LG) Najeeb Jung on Wednesday cancelled all the appointments made by the Delhi government in the past four days. “The LG and the chief minister should sit together and find a solution.
